Ministries - Home Fellowship Groups

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:6-7)

Home Fellowship Focus

Home Fellowship Groups consists of six to twelve adults that meet at least once a month in people's homes to share what the Lord is doing in their lives, pray with one another, and spend time in fellowship. The beauty and effectiveness of the Home Fellowship Groups in their ability to bring the larger corporate Body, which can sometimes become impersonal, to the place of being a mechanism for true intimacy and support in relationship to Christ and others. This takes place as each individual in a Home Fellowship Group is able to know that when they are in a group setting there is safety, security and the ability to be honest and open about life.

We realize the most effective course for the Home Fellowship Group Ministry is to become a place for Godly fellowship, healthy relationship building and encouragement for living a Godly, purposeful life. Groups maintain a simple format when meeting, always focusing in these four areas:

  • Our testimony of Faith – the relationship to Christ and our common salvation
  • Our testimony of Life – the relationship we have with others as we live
  • Our testimony of Need – the desire to have someone to come alongside
  • Our Reach – the in-reach to the Body, the out-reach to the world

Home Fellowship Structure

The goal of the Home Fellowship Group Ministry is to cause the Body to grow together, to promote personal relationships and to bring greater unity. This is vital for the journey we are undertaking as believers. We have learned that the importance of a simple structure and solid leadership are a must. With that in mind, what we have developed is a simple structure that aims to cultivate growth and expansion of groups. It looks like this:

  • Start Group – This group has a minimum total of 6 adults and is led by a trained Group Leader.
  • Grow Group – This group has a maximum total of 10 adults and is led by a trained Group Leader with an additional Group Leader-in-training.
  • Reproduction Group – This group has a total consistently above 10 adults and is led by 2 trained Group Leaders. During this time the one group is preparing to reproduce and become two. (This process will have several steps in order to ensure smooth transition and health for both new Start Groups.)
  • Adults are Single or Married. Children are not included in the count for total number.
