Ministries - Support Ministries

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” (Romans 12:4-6)

HOST Team Ministry (Helping Others Serve Together)

The HOST Team’s purpose is defined in its name: Helping Others Serve Together. Responsibilities range from a friendly handshake at the door all the way to making sure directions and information is readily available for members and newcomers as they come to participate in worship when we are together. The HOST Team is available at the information desk in the foyer every Sunday morning on Wednesday evenings. Leadership Team: Jim McAfee, Leroy Elleby (Deacon Support)

Kitchen Ministry

The Kitchen Ministry is not only responsible for the family meal time every Wednesday evening (5pm – 6pm), but also for any church event that involves a meal. Anytime a fellowship gathering is held at the church, the Kitchen Ministry is right there making sure every mouth is fed and every person is served. Leadership Team: Kathy Lewis, Tom Schwind (Deacon Support)

Media Ministry

Media plays a large role in our culture. Though media can so often become a distraction for people, the purpose of the Media Ministry is use audio/visual tools to help eliminate distractions and to help the body to focus as they come together to worship. Our sound technicians, projection operators, and graphic designers work diligently each week to ensure that what needs to be heard is heard and what needs to be seen is seen. The media is not the focus of our services; rather, it is an aid to help those in the body to stay focused on the purpose of our worship. Leadership Team: Tom Robinson, Aaron Spurlock, Jeff McCullough

Office Ministry

Many people are under the impression that ministry only takes place when the church doors are open. The truth of the matter is that ministry takes place where God is at work – and God is working all of the time in various places. This means that those involved in ministry need to rely on a team that can assist with administrative and clerical duties that are required to effectively carry out ministry. Our Office Ministry consists of a team of staff members and volunteers who do just that every weekday from 9am – 4pm. Responsibilities include providing administrative support to the church ministries, assist in book keeping and accounting, and carrying out direct ministry to those who contact or come in to the office with various needs. Office Volunteers: Gwen Vicari, Sharon Forman, Eileen Goins

Prayer Ministry

We serve a God who desires that we have an active relationship with Him. Just as communication plays a vital role in any healthy relationship, so does prayer our relationship with our Creator. The Prayer Ministry exists for the primary purpose of encouraging all ministries and all believers to be regularly in prayer and to constantly bring needs of the body before the Lord through intercession. The Prayer Vine plays a crucial role in this. It consists of a group of believers who are regularly on call to be in prayer as specific needs arise. For more information about the Prayer Ministry or to request prayer please contact the church at office (618) 233-1177. Leadership Team: Sharon Forman
